Butter Masala Shakshuka

Serves: 2

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 red pepper, diced

1 cup Masala Gossip Butter Masala Sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

4 large eggs

Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Feta cheese or crumbled goat cheese and toasted bread (optional, to serve)

Instructions:

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  • Add the peppers and cook for 5 minutes until the peppers are softened. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Stir in the Masala Gossip Butter Masala sauce. Simmer the mixture for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.

  • Using a spoon, make small wells in the sauce for each egg.

  • Crack the eggs one at a time into the wells. Cover the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked to your desired level of doneness. Season the eggs with salt and pepper.

  • Once the eggs are cooked, remove the skillet from heat. Sprinkle chopped parsley or cilantro over the top.

  • Optionally, crumble feta cheese or goat cheese over the Shakshuka before serving.

     

  • Serve the Shakshuka hot with toasted bread or pita for dipping.
